Mr. Borghese received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Physics, a minor in Economics, and a concentration in Environmental Studies from John Carroll University in 1986. While attending that university he became a member of Sigma Pi Sigma (Physics Honor Society) and of Alpha Sigma Nu, (Honor Society of Jesuit Colleges and Universities). He received a Master of Architecture Degree from the Ohio State University in 1989. While in the graduate program he was a Graduate Assistant Instructor of Construction Technology and of Modern Architectural History and in 1988 he was selected to receive the Architects Society of Ohio Medal. He received his Ohio license of architectural registration in 1994. Mr. Borghese has been employed by Jack D. Walters & Associates Inc. since 1989 and has prior experience with the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA).
He has had considerable experience with new construction and with building repair/renovation projects, with specific attention to building code compliance, moisture protection regarding roof systems, exterior wall restoration, and building structural framing analysis and design. He has expertise in code analysis, product research and specification, heat transfer, model energy code compliance, mechanical systems design, electrical systems, preparation of working drawings and specifications, construction administration and observation, and is the firm green building/ sustainable practices co-ordinator. Mr. Borghese has been project team leader on approximately 300 new construction or renovation projects, covering the firm’s full range of architectural practice.
Mr. Borghese is a member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI International), the Construction Specifications Institute (C.S.I), and has been a member of the jury panel for the masonry awards program of the Ohio Masonry Contractor’s Association.
